Speech of Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon, Chairman of Nova Group at the United Nations 2045 Roundtable “A Distinguished City to honor the United Nations’ First Century”
Ladies and gentlemen,
It’s my honor to attend the United Nations Round Table 2045.
I’d like to say thank you to Mr. Ramu Damodaran, Editor-in-Chief of United Nations Chronicle and Chief of the United Nations Academic Impact for inviting me to speak at this event.
As you know, Vietnam is emerging as a politically stable country. In 2020, Vietnam was very successful in its dual goal of effectively containing the Covid-19 epidemic and recovering economically. The country is on the way to becoming a leader in the digital economy. Vietnam has also properly fulfilled its duties at international forums and organizations by playing its roles as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, the ASEAN 2020 Chair, and AIPA 41 Chair. Vietnam aspires to become a developed country by 2045.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Vietnam has 3,260 kilometers of coastline, with many places that could become leading tourist destinations.
In particular, Phan Thiet City, famous for its blue sea, white sand, and golden sunshine, boasts many advantages. It is connected with major cities via international airports, seaports and highways. Located only about 150 km from Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Thiet has features that could make it a global destination: Mui Ne national tourist area, the unique Champa culture, beautiful natural beaches, the climate warm and sunny year-round, abundant and diverse land resources, a low cost of living, and ongoing master development plans. Notably, when connected, Ho Chi Minh City and Phan Thiet will form a strong regional link.
My company, Nova Group, is a multi-industry corporation whose mission is to contribute to prosperous and thriving communities. While developing our projects in Phan Thiet City, we realized that this place has what is required to become a global destination.
It is wisely said that “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” That’s why we would welcome contributions from the international community, including professors, public leaders, institutions operating in Artificial Intelligence and digital technology and, especially from the United Nations, the premier organization for international security, peace, and sustainable development. The United Nations with nearly 200 member states and its organizations can assist us in creating a unique model for the world. The year 2045, which marks the 100th anniversary of the UN, will introduce the international community to a new and innovative destination – a more fully developed Vietnam.
Below are the specific tasks we have performed for the project:
Nova Group and the Michael Dukakis Institute have signed a cooperation agreement. Accordingly, the Michael Dukakis Institute will help promote NovaWorld Phan Thiet to the world. It will also connect the innovative AIWS City with NovaWorld Phan Thiet – a unique project with an investment of USD 5 billion, thereby linking a virtual city with a real one to form a model that brings together the best of the world.
The city of Phan Thiet will be the place for the World Leadership Alliance-Club de Madrid and the Michael Dukakis Institute to hold important annual events that gather presidents, prime ministers, and top thinkers from around the world. Especially, the year 2022 will be marked by the theme of Building a New Economy for the world in the digital and artificial intelligence era.
Thanks to the partnership with the Michael Dukakis Institute, NovaWorld Phan Thiet, will serve as the venue to announce new achievements in the history of artificial intelligence and the digital economy. It will also host special presentations by leaders as well as new ideas, initiatives, and solutions by thinkers and creators in the effort to build a civilized, prosperous, peaceful, and happy world. This is also the place to honor world leaders who have made outstanding contributions to this goal.
In order to have the opportunity to host breakthrough ideas and creative solutions, Nova Group together with the authority of Binh Thuan province and Michael Dukakis Institute will co-host the Contest “Vietnam Aspiration to make Phan Thiet the No.1 Regional and Global MICE tourist destination” and a unique model for the World in 2045. (The budget for the contest is 5 Million USD).
To achieve this goal and aspiration, we welcome all intellectual and financial contributions from the global community, especially from the United Nations and its members, to jointly develop Phan Thiet City into a pearl of mankind in the 21st century.
Ladies and gentlemen, Phan Thiet – Binh Thuan – Vietnam beckons and welcomes you.
My sincere thanks again to the United Nations Academic Impact and the Boston Global Forum for hosting the United Nations 2045 Roundtable today.
Regards and best wishes to you
Bui Thanh Nhon
Chairman of Nova Group
