Beacon Papers No. 14: From a Method to a Civilization

Boston Global Forum and AIWS present Beacon Papers No. 14, “From a Method to a Civilization,” by Nguyen Anh Tuan, Founder and Chief Architect of AIWS and Co-Founder, Co-Chair and CEO of Boston Global Forum.

Human–AI co-creation has been studied and practiced within particular tasks and domains. Building on Beacon Papers No. 8, this new paper explains how BGF–AIWS establishes it as the organizing principle of AIWS Civilization—a comprehensive architecture connecting human development, culture, constitutional protections, trust infrastructure, institutions, cities, economic systems, and the silicon foundations of AI power.

Its central distinction is decisive: better output can conceal declining human capabilities. Genuine Human–AI Co-Creation must strengthen the person through four conditions: human authorship, Human-in-Command, the Human Advancement Test, and cultural identity.

The paper also connects these conditions with the Human–AI Co-Creation Movement and the AIWS badge framework, affirming that commitment is not certification: human advancement must be demonstrated through evidence.

Its Beacon Principle captures the purpose:

“Co-production makes things. Co-creation makes people. A civilization is measured by the people it makes.”
